A Soviet journalist with the gift of total becomes an unwitting enemy of the state when the psychologist studying him inadvertently brings his vast memory to the attention of suspicious officials. Moving between Stalin’s Russia of the 1930s and the Kruschev era of the late 1950s,  Memoirs of a Forgotten Man examines the connections between memory and identity and counts the high price we all pay when we allow the State to decide what the truth is.

The play was originally produced as a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere by the Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Shepherdstown, W.Va.; New Jersey Repertory Co., Long Branch, N.J.; and Shadowland Stages, Ellenville, N.Y. For more information see www.nnpn.org
